Here first of all we will talk about basic PPE so all the equipment’s or clothing’s which is used to cover or protect our body parts are called as basic PPE so i would like to start with our very sensitive part of our body guess what ???? Yes of course you are to protect our Head.

Now the second PPE is Safety goggles and Face shields which is used for the protection of Eye and Face. You must protect your Eye during any work. It is also used for the task that can cause loss of vision and an eye burns. So check there are no cracks or deformities on the lenses.

Now the Third PPE is Safety Boots or Shoes which is used for the protection of our Foot. So the safety shoes or boot is used for the task that can cause serious foot and leg injuries from falling or rolling objects, hot substances, electrical hazards and slippery surfaces.

Now the Fourth PPE is Safety Gloves which is used for the protection of Hand. so safety gloves is used for the task that can cause hand and skin burns or absorption of harmful substances. It also protect from cuts, burns and chemical residue. Also during the use of General fitter or Mechanical Fitter hand tools they must use hand gloves. And You should always change or replace them if any sign of contamination was observed.

Now the fifth PPE is Coverall or Boiler suites which is used to protect our whole body parts from extreme temperature or flame or spark or toxic chemicals or radiation. you should always keep in mind that if boiler suites or coverall is damage then immediately you should change it.

So last but not the least the sixth basic PPE is Ear Plug or Ear Muff  which is used for the protection of Hearing. Ear plug or Ear muff is used in the work place to protect the worker’s ears from excessive noise.

Other than Basic PPE

1.  Safety Harness –

Safety harness is also used as a safety precaution. It is mostly used for falling protection. If you are working on a scaffolding or a platform

of height more than 1.5

meter then you should always use safety harness for falling protection.

2.  Respiratory Protection-

Breathing Apparatus is used for respiratory Protection. It is mostly used for confined space or where toxic gases like H2S are available. Breathing apparatus is also known as SCBA i.e, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. When we work in confined space then there is deficiency of oxygen in that space so we have to carry this SCBA so that we can work easily.

NOTE – One thing always keep in mind that without training of breathing apparatus (so that how to use it ) please do not use this equipment.

3. Dust Mask-

When we are working then there are lots of dust particles are available in atmosphere and other contaminants are also available in atmosphere, which goes to our body through breathing which will be very harmful for our health. So we should always use Dust Mask.

4. Gas Detector-

Gas detector is also used as a PPE. so H2S monitor is used as a gas detector. If you have worked in KNPC Kuwait then you must aware of H2S gas monitor. When we work in confined space or during Blinding and deblinding Procedure toxic gases like H2S released which is very harmful so that it causes death also so for the detection of toxic gases we should use Gas Monitor or Gas Detector.
